Facilities

Station 2 is located on the East side of Salem between Main Street and Apperson Drive. Vehicles located at Station 2 include Engine 2, Medic 802, HTR 2 (Technical Rescue Response Vehicle) Technical Rescue equipment and trailers, and our Swift Water Rescue boats. Aside from fire suppression, Engine 2 has a wide variety of tools and equipment. The specialties for Engine 2 and its personnel include Motor vehicle extractions and machinery/equipment entrapments.

The Technical Rescue Team is based out of this station. These individuals have the training to deal with confined space incidents, high/low angle rescues, water emergencies (Swift Water Rescue), structural collapse events, and trench collapse. The equipment needed to respond to these types of incidents is all housed here. All of our technical rescue sections are a part of the Virginia Division 6 team allowing the team to be deployed in various parts of the state for incidents.
