FILTER - In 1993, founder and lead vocalist Patrick placed an ad in Scene Magazine in Cleveland, OH, shortly after leaving Nine Inch Nails as their touring guitarist, looking to form a band that would eventually evolve into Filter. Their debut album Short Bus was released in 1995 and ended up going platinum, largely due to the success of the single “Hey Man Nice Shot.”
The follow up, 1999's Title of Record, also went platinum driven by the success of the song “Take a Picture.” Filter’s third album, The Amalgamut, was released in 2002, though sales stalled when Patrick checked into rehab after years of heavy alcohol and drug abuse just as touring and promotion began. Upon getting healthy, Patrick formed the supergroup Army of Anyone with Dean and Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots and Ray Luzier of Korn, released one critically acclaimed album and toured the U.S. After AOA went on hiatus, Patrick returned to Filter, releasing Anthems for the Damned in 2008, The Trouble With Angels in 2010, The Sun Comes Out Tonight in 2013 and Crazy Eyes in 2016.
In late 2023 FILTER released their much-anticipated new album, ‘The Algorithm’. The album, their first in seven years, is a tight, conceptual statement heralding career-best songwriting from mastermind Richard Patrick and giving the classic Filter sound a modern sonic edge.
FINGER ELEVEN - Finger Eleven, the alternative rock band from Ontario, and one of the best-selling Canadian bands of all time, have released a series of consecutive hit albums and become among the greatest live bands to ever emerge from the great White North. The Greyest of Blue Skies, their debut, broke Finger Eleven into the international mainstream, achieving Gold status in the United States and Platinum in Canada, and smashing the first single "One Thing", across the radio and Billboard charts. Their 2007 album, Them vs. You vs. Me, launched the single "Paralyzer", setting radio records in the US, peaking at #1 internationally and going 5x Platinum, the band’s second million+ seller.
Believe it or not, Finger Eleven have been around since 1990. Back in high school, founding members Scott and Sean Anderson (vocals and bass), and guitarists James Black and Rick Jackett formed the band with original drummer Rob Gommerman. They became Rainbow Butt Monkeys. With their blend of ‘90s alt and funk-rock, the Canadian upstarts signed to Mercury and released Letters From Chutney in 1995. While they had fun, the quintet realized they needed a new name and shift in the direction. Thus Finger Eleven was born, and they transitioned into a post-grunge and nu-metal influenced phase. It’s been awhile since we’ve gotten a full platter of new tunes from them, although Finger Eleven have consistently toured since the release of their last album, 2015’s Five Crooked Lines. They released their Greatest Hits album last year which included a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome To The Machine” and a driving new anthem called “Together Right” which hit #1 at Canadian Rock radio for an incredible 5 weeks.
LOCAL H - Local H is known for their blistering live shows and for pioneering the two - man band set-up -- frontman Scott Lucas covers both guitar and bass through an extra pick up in his guitar and drummer Ryan Harding pounds out the rest of the sound. While they have earned praise in the past for their catalog of clever concept albums, Local H have forgone a singular theme on their most recent album -- Hey, Killer (out April 2015 on G&P Records) -- turning out a non-stop blast of straight up, hooky, guitar-heavy rock songs--each one catchier than the last. The band’s discography includes seven other studio albums, a live album, and a bunch of EPs and “Straight Outta Zion,” a Blu-ray concert video (release date 8/12/16). Local H’s widely praised 1998 concept album Pack Up the Cats earned a spot in SPIN magazine’s top 20 albums of that year. The band was named “Chicagoans of the Year” by the Chicago Tribune for their 2008 break - up album, 12 Angry Months, more than a decade after their breakthrough hit Bound for the Floor” ruled the Modern Rock charts. In 2015, Local H celebrated the 25th anniversary of their first show and released a career spanning coffee table book, Local H:Twenty-Five Years of Skin In The Game. Earlier this year, they reissued their 1996 album, As Good As Dead, on vinyl for the first time.
